Richard W. Horowitz, P.E.
Principal
Rich
received his engineering degree from Northeastern University in 1974
and is a co-founder of HTK. With over 30 years of engineering
experience, Rich brings leadership, attention to detail and cost
effective designs to each project he oversees. This ensures that his
projects meet both budget and time constraints. He is a member of SEOC,

Richard K. Taylor, P.E.
Principal Rick
received his engineering degree from San Diego State in 1983 and is a
co-founder of HTK. With over 20 years of engineering experience, Rick’s
comprehensive and logical approach to design keeps projects running
smoothly. He prides himself on being detail oriented, minimizing
questions from the field during construction. He is a member of AISC,

Helmand M. Kushkaki, S.E.
Principal
Helmand received his bachelor’s degree from San Diego State in 1992 and earned
his master’s degree in Structural Engineering two years later. Helmand
joined HTK in 1994 and became a principal in 2001. With his expertise
in engineering concepts and a practical approach to design, Helmand is
an excellent source of information for young engineers. He has also
participated in evaluating tests for the state of California’s

Ronald C. Prentice, P.E.
Project Manager
Ron graduated from California Polytechnic State University in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in Architectural engineering. He joined HTK in 1993 and is responsible for marketing, project coordination, structural observation, preparing construction documents and providing economic solutions during design and construction administration. Bruce E. Cosart, P.E.
Project Manager
Bruce graduated from California Polytechnic State University in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering. He became a licensed professional engineer in 1983 and joined HTK in 1991.
