We are very pleased to have been a part of the team with Stephen Dalton Architect’s on their award winning project ‘Moonlight Beach Marine Safety Center’. The project won “Project of the Year” at the 2018 American Public Works Association Awards and is now on the ballot for the “Outstanding Project of the Year” award which will be selected at the APWA Dinner Dance in the fall.

Moonlight Beach Marine Safety Center, located in Encinitas, CA, was built to replace the current facilities and a tower that had blind spots for lifeguards from the supporting beams. The Marine Safety Center consists of a two-story safety center with second level observation deck, a one-story concession structure and a garage structure. Structural steel, reinforced concrete slabs/beams, masonry and wood were utilized as part of the framing.  This center will be headquarters for all Encinitas Lifeguard beach operations and first aid services, which will bring needed upgrades in medical treatment capacity and communications technology.
